Math Masaala

1-week Online Math Camp for 4th & 5th graders

Taking a step towards our dream of nurturing the young minds of today with curiosity, creativity and critical thinking, Aavishkaar is organizing an interactive online summer camp for primary school students (classes 4-5) to experience the magic of Math!

Math Masala is a week-long online program for young kids who are interested in exploring the fascinating world of Math beyond the procedural world of the classroom. It brings Maths alive, as a visual and creative subject. Maths is no more dull or scary as children become friends with numbers for life. Math Masala will create a shared space for curious students to interact, exchange ideas and collaborate in the engaging company of like-minded children and facilitators who love to engage the thinking mind.

A Glimpse at the Sessions

Math Fundamentals : Understand the building blocks of Math behind the number system & operations like Division and Multiplication. Play with numbers, break down big numbers into smaller friendly numbers and develop number flexibility. See Math as meaningful and not as a set of arbitrary procedures – and dare we say even glimpse the enchanting beauty of Math!

Math Explorations : Start with an intriguing Puzzle and learn problem solving as you peel it layer by layer. Feel the Aha moment of identifying and discovering hidden Patterns. Learn to stay with a problem and think deeply, with engaging puzzles, games and activities.

Learning Online : Aavishkaar excels at making learning experiential and hands-on. Get introduced to a curated Library of online resources which enable bringing interactivity and hands-on learning to the online medium, with Virtual Manipulatives and Interactive Digital Tools. Learn to explore resources online on your own to continue digital learning even after the course.

Design Challenges: Through this very interesting team building exercise, students will participate in the engineering design process. They will be challenged to solve a problem using a limited number of resources, just as in the real world. It’ll also be the time to test various theoretical concepts by building new things.
