The STEM Collective

Despite the sky rocketing accessibility to internet and information in India, there is a dearth of basic conceptual understanding and numeracy in the country’s population. According to the ASER 2018 report, 70% of the students in grade 5 are not equipped to do basic division. In addition to this, the representation of women in STEM related professions is very low, irrespective of the reasons.

Our Intervention

Through the program, we support teachers by equipping them in 2 main pillars –

  • Enabling them in developing conceptual understanding of Primary and Middle Grade Math and Science topics.
  • Coaching them in creating experiential learning spaces in their respective classrooms while adapting their learnings and delivering visual, contextual, relevant and engaging content.

Who We Work With

The program works with young women to equip, empower and enable them to choose and thrive as STEM educator, and help adolescent girls in education.

We are working with around 200 experienced and aspiring teachers (predominantly women) from 12 grassroot organizations across India in developing knowledge, skills and mindset change to aid them in improving teaching habits and classroom culture to reach the young girls.
